221 entry

So I went to New York with my lovely girl and what an experience!
Didn't do half as much artwork as I would have liked but we covered SO much and came home happy but exhausted!

View from Liberty Island - in the sunshine!

Statue of Liberty that in its day was the highest building!
I thought it was fabulous!

Central Park was exactly as I have seen in the films. Loved the skyscrapers as a backdrop...
Big tick box for me!
Both above and below are very quick sketches on Liberty Island.

We stayed in a hotel right by the Chrysler Centre which was very beautiful.
39th floor up...Quite high!

Breakfast on the first morning - this includes roast potatoes everywhere...

Two more of the skyline. One in watercolour and pen and one in just watercolour.
I prefer the first myself. I love that style...

A quick update on our visit. Very special with a very special person.
Thank you!

About Me

My photo
Art has always been an integral part of my life. At the age of 50 I was able to complete a long awaited foundation course and HNC/HND. From this experience I have developed my love of pastel and watercolour. Rubens has always inspired me with his fluidity of movement; Degas and Lautrec I admire with their rough marks and blends of colour, their freshness of approach. I feel I have been given a talent for a reason and gradually the purpose shall unfold... sarah.orchard54@hotmail.co.uk Note: Images are Copyright Sarah Orchard © 2009
