It's the year of the Bee.
If they all became extinct then so would we,
we rely on them for pollination so be kind to them...

My year of 'Naive Art.'

This is Matilda and I LOVE her
Under is Albert and I LOVE him too but not as much as Matilda

Below, shouting at you, is Sid
and below him is his mate Charlie.

These characters that I have created are like in Beatrix Potter books. She relates to her illustrations - Peter Rabbit especially - as family!

I spent time down at Woodgreen Hampshire Open Studio and using stick, ink and watercolours these guys emerged. I think they are great.

I added a flower one as well.
I tend to draw people as I like the movement

The style developed into this...

About Me

My photo
Art has always been an integral part of my life. At the age of 50 I was able to complete a long awaited foundation course and HNC/HND. From this experience I have developed my love of pastel and watercolour. Rubens has always inspired me with his fluidity of movement; Degas and Lautrec I admire with their rough marks and blends of colour, their freshness of approach. I feel I have been given a talent for a reason and gradually the purpose shall unfold... sarah.orchard54@hotmail.co.uk Note: Images are Copyright Sarah Orchard © 2009
